JAMES VAIDYAN

FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR,
THE VALLEY OF LIFE FOUNDATION

James Vaidyan, is a traditional indigenous healer. As an Ayurvedic Vaidyan, he is the descendant of many generations of healers who learned his family's ancestral practice starting in childhood at the feet of his father and grandfather. He began practicing  independently as a teenager; and has continued his healing practice for over 4 decades. Over that time, the plants necessary to make traditional Ayurvedic medicines have been slowly disappearing due to habitat loss. As he saw the plants disappearing he decided to work for their preservation and the concept of the Valley of Life was born.  A group of dedicated friends and patients decided that it was critical to support the plant preservation effort and have joined with him in forming The Valley of Life Foundation to save not only medicinal plants, but also the knowledge of how to use them for healing.
